Five steps to take when looking for abortion in Denver, Colorado.

Woman reading the 5 steps to take when looking for abortion

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 women are anticipated to have an abortion during their reproductive years? So, if you’re considering abortion as an option for an unexpected pregnancy, we suggest these five steps.

Step #1: Confirm your pregnancy – with a pregnancy test and ultrasound.

Did you know that for women who have confirmed their pregnancy, about 10 to 15 in 100 pregnancies (10 to 15 percent) end in miscarriage? And that the majority of miscarriages happen in the first trimester before the 12th week of pregnancy. In addition to this, miscarriage in the second trimester happens in 1 to 5 in 100 (1 to 5 percent) pregnancies.

Why does this matter? Because if you’re considering an abortion and your body is preparing for a miscarriage, you won’t need an abortion. This is why we always tell our patients to get an ultrasound in addition to the pregnancy test because an ultrasound exam can detect a non-viable pregnancy.

Step # 2: Find a safe place to process your thoughts, emotions, and options.

Do you have a safe place where you can process your thoughts, emotions, and options? Unexpected pregnancy comes with unexpected emotions! It’s not uncommon to be excited one moment and in despair the next. No, you’re not crazy. Your body is going through a rollercoaster of emotions. This is why we recommend talking through your option with someone who is not biased to your pregnancy. Your family, boyfriend, friends, co-workers, etc., probably have their own opinions on your pregnancy, but what are your thoughts about it? Whatever your situation, remember that you need a safe place that will offer you unbiased information and not profit from any decision you make.

Step #3: Get all the answers.

Find a medical clinic that can give you all the answers needed to make the best decision. Some questions you should ask is what kind of abortions are there? Are there side effects to abortion? How does an abortion cost? How will it be performed? What should you do if you think there is a problem? Having ALL the medical information is imperative to your health and wellbeing. Not sure where to go? Keep reading!

Step #4: Check the clinic

Did you know there is a site where you can check the clinic where abortions are performed? Why would you want to do this? To find out if there is malpractice taking place. You don’t want to risk your health. So why not check the clinic here
