The Four What If Questions When Dealing With an Unplanned Pregnancy

Woman looking for the 4 what if questions when you're pregnant

The four “what if” pregnancy questions

Think you’re pregnant? Not sure where to go or who to talk to, or what you should do first? We understand that pregnancy, especially an unplanned pregnancy, can be difficult. That is why we’ve created some of the most common “what if” questions of pregnancy.

What if I’m actually pregnant? What do I do now?

Regardless of whether you took an at-home pregnancy test or not, we suggest coming to take a free pregnancy test at Marisol Health. Our pregnancy tests are conducted by Registered Nurses or trained staff. Our pregnancy tests are Lab quality, 99% accurate, and more sensitive than home pregnancy tests.

After the pregnancy test, you may qualify for a complimentary verification ultrasound, which will give you a more accurate measurement of the gestational age of your pregnancy.

What if my partner doesn’t want the baby, but I do, or vice versa? Who can we talk to?

You have concerns. We’re here to listen. We have counselors that are kind, thoughtful, and honest. We want to understand your situation so that we can empower you to be healthy and successful.

Our team focuses on addressing the immediate health concerns of women, their partners, and their families.

In addition to this, we offer:

  • Affordable, psychological counseling for you and your family members
  • Affordable medical care
  • Training in effective parenting skills
  • Money Management classes
  • Affordable housing
  • Psychoeducational Perinatal and Postpartum Support Groups

What if I need to get an abortion? How will I know what type to get?

If you’re considering abortion, you will need to know the following information.

  • Is the pregnancy viable?
  • How far along am I?
  • Is the pregnancy in the uterus?
  • Am I miscarrying?

A visit with our medical team is your best bet to gain medical information about your pregnancy. Because if your pregnancy is not viable or you’re miscarrying, you won’t need an abortion. By getting a free pregnancy test and ultrasound, you could save yourself hundreds of dollars. In addition to this, an early ultrasound can determine:

  • Presence of more than one fetus
  • Your due date or gestational age (the age of the fetus)

Although we do not provide or refer for abortions, you will need to know the gestational age of the pregnancy to understand what your options are.

What if I don’t have insurance?

No problem! At Marisol Health, we offer free pregnancy tests and ultrasound as well as options counseling. In addition, further medical services are provided at a limited cost. Marisol Health aims to treat each of our patients with dignity and respect while providing excellent care.
